No More Excuses

By Shekinah Harper, Editorial Intern

We always find some reason to stop us from reaching our goals. Whether we blame our lack of success on others, or the lack of opportunities presented, in order to have a successful career we need to get rid of excuses all together. To aid you in your productivity today, here are a few excuses you should get rid of:

1. “I don’t have time.”

Well who does have the time? You have 24 hours to split between sleep, work, and spending time with your family. You always make time for what you want to do, so if you want to sleep for 12 hours you just wasted half of your day. Remember there are only 24 hours so use it wisely.

2. “I’m not good at this.”

I know there is that one person you believe is good at everything. Every task thrown at them they complete with ease. This doesn’t happen overnight. The key to life is experience. It will benefit you to not only perfect your craft, but gain in experience in other areas. Eventually you’ll become that person you admire.

3. “I’m too tired.”

Around 2 p.m. we all start to get that middle of the day slump. That point where we just stare at our computer and ask ourselves “Is it 5 o’clock yet?”I know we have all heard that we need at least 8 hours of sleep each night, and it’s true. Receiving less than 8 hours of sleep for a week can lead to memory loss, confusion and extreme mood fluctuation. For those who “don’t have the time”squeeze a 15 minute nap in here and there after work and between spending time with your family.
